Oh Mr. Darcy. You have so many memes it was hard just to only choose two. I read the majority of the Austen novels and the entire twilight series. Is that extensive enough for you? And yes, I’ll marry you.
- Lady Susan, Letter 26, page 88
Lady Susan is up to her old tricks again! Here she is talking about Manwaring and how his wife is jealous. Sorry Lady Susan, but I dont think you can pin this all on the guy. Although Manwaring wasnt the best guy in all of the Austen novels (in fact he kinda sucked), but Lady Susan was exactly the innocent lady she should have been back in the day.
- Lady Susan, Letter 16, page 65
Lady Susan shows her true character in this letter and quote! Im not sure why, but I actually liked Lady Susan as a character because she is so unlike every other Austen character (well maybe like the other Ladies we have come to know and hate). Her ideas on love are so twisted its amazing.
Sanditon was a second wife and four children to him- hardly less dear- and certainly more engrossing- he could talk of it forever.
From the moment Mr. Parker mentions Sanditon, you can tell that he is a little more attached than the average Joe would have been! He thinks very highly of Sanditon and the comparison to the estate and his family that the narrator makes is perfect.
A little Austen before bed!
This quote stood out to me while watching the film “Mansfield Park” because Fanny seemed so bored, yet she had so much going on! It is an interesting take on life and made Fanny a very interesting character in my opinion.
-Austen, Jane. Mansfield Park.
"Why was it so much worse that Harriet should be in love with Mr. Knightley than with Frank Churchill? Why was the evil so dreadfully increased by Harriet’s having some hope of a return? It darted through her with the speed of an arrow that Mr. Knightley must marry no one but herself!"
While reading this I totally saw this scene from Clueless! This scene was recreated well in my opinion.
-Austen, Jane. Emma.Volume 3, chapter 47.
I’ve never heard of a Jane Austen role-play game so I found this very interesting. It’s free for now, so if you are interested you can create an account!
